No Rochu, No Life.
Summer comes gently in my city. We've been rainy for almost a week, air become fresh and moist.
Yesterday school announced the time schedule of 2010's summer. I'll got the shortest summer vocation in my study life——only 8 days!
From July 12th to July 20th...and a school trip to Shanghai EXPO will cost about 3 days. I'll stay in Shanghai until July 19th, hope I could collect all memory stamp of countries which I'm interested about on my EXPO PASSPORT.

After this summer I'll start my last year in high school. It will be a tough year, all my time and energy will devote for study.
Well...anyway, I hope that I can get good grades in Gaokao. My target school required over 610 points, it's sounds difficult, I should try my best...or even jump to touch the score line! (lol)

Hi~I'm back.=)
I love to eat vegetables and fish, a dish called "Tangcuyu (fish with sugar and vinegar)" is very delicious~XD~
Well at most of my free time I'd like to stay at home, reading along and enjoy books. I prefer reading traditional paper books than e-books, to touch those paper makes me feel relaxed. :)

By the way, I like to read some different translation version of foreign books. It's interesting to discovery differences between translators. :D

Fish with sugar?? Wow, you're extreme-lover? :D
Yes, it's true)) It's pleasant to know that it's - your book xD And I love new books' smell

And do you find many of differences? Or maybe misktakes? (=
16.05.2010 в 17:37

No Rochu, No Life.
I love new books' smell +1 !

^_^~I compared two translation versions of Золотая Роза word by word, it seems just like two different book by different translators. But I can't find mistakes, I can only say that the "style" of translator can affect books a lot. My favourite Rus-Chn translator is Dai Cong, an old master in China's translate area. He is the best translator of Bunin's work, I haven't found another person who can express Bunin's word feeling in Chinese better than Mr.Dai~ And...ofcourse, he is my idol.XD

It's a pity that nowadays young translators seems not that serious to those literature works which they have to translate. I've read some works by them and I can even find grammer mistake from their Chinese! OTZ. So, I prefer the version of old translators like Mr.Dai. When I read his translation version, I can feel both the unique beauty from original language and my mother tongue. And, THAT is literature.=)

Thank you for this story's name, I read it ))
I can even find grammer mistake from their Chinese!
>___> Idiots. If knowledge of native language isn't in blood since birthday - at first u must learn it >< Sorry, every mistake of Russian man in Russian makes me evil, the same with another nations and languages.

Tell me something, pls :D You're very good storyteller ))))

One of the important reason of those bad translation works maybe is some publishing houses want quick success and they make translators working as quickly as they can. It is necessary to work quickly nowadays as world changes at every moment. I can bear some small mistakes of translation in other area--Who can say they never make mistakes? But I can't stand those endless stupid thing when it comes to literature. In my opion, one work which can never get a "Quick Success" is literature. A translator of foreign literature should have enough responsibility--both for the original writer and readers. Those who translate words without a serious heart is only a "moving electronic dictionary", they aren't worth to be called as a "translator."

=) Actually the grammer of Chinese is "foggy" in daily conversation, but I think when things comes to a serious situation (like formal writing), we should pay attention to our dear grammer. There is a regular examination question in our high school Chinese subject called “病句改错”, you should find a wrong sentence from four sentences and correct it. Some of my classmates get a headache about this question. Hmm...if we put those sentences in daily dialogue, nothing special! XD

It's strange that some schools here--well, I don't want to say actually LOTS of schools...TvT--treat English as the most important language subject even more than our mother tongue Chinese. I don't mean that English is not important, but I feel angry of their carelessness on Chinese.
Last year, five university from Shanghai cancelled the Chinese subject from their enroll examination. There was a heated discussion in the community of their behavior. Does Maths and English really THAT important even more than Chinese in China society? I don't think so. And I'm really worried...look at those stupid translation version, their "masterpiece" can satires all.

Sorry for my preachment~TvT~When topic comes to language, I can't control myself to stop talking. Orz.

Wish to get money ruins practically all books, not only translated. Author or translator wants to write fast. And authors also uses literature stamps (eyes, as black as night; minutes seems like hours, etc), because he thinks that readers love it. And plot - popular and threadbare. Nothing interesting and original, only work for public,
Yeah, number of 'dictionaries with legs' is too big =_= Some of them could be really good translators, but I think, they don't want.

English as the most important language subject even more than our mother tongue Chinese.
O____o g-great... And what will do Chinese human without knowledge of Chinese in China? Oo Interesting schools.

No-no, everything is ok ^__^v I love to read you ))))

And what will do Chinese human without knowledge of Chinese in China?

I don't know either.(shrug)
In my opinion, those who wants to do translation works well should study both Chinese and foreign languages as well as they could. I think maybe the contempt of Chinese learning is another reason for those moving electronic dictionaries' apprence.

Sorry for my late reply, recently I'm busy with those endless exams...My High School Graduate Examination will end at June 12th. The exam is very easy but it will have at least nine small exams for each subject we've leart in high school. I should pass it to get my diploma and then...get the permition of Gaokao(college entrance examination) in 2011.Orz
I think I'm living in the paper mountain paper sea. XDDDDD
